CORROPIPE II WASTELINER
THE PRODUCT AND ITS USES
Corropipe II WasteLiner is a liquid-applied polyurethane coating especially formulated
for use as an economical protective lining inside pipelines carrying aqueous effluent and
non-potable water. The finished product has the appearance of a sheet of plastic fusion
bonded to the substrate being protected.
To the applicator, it offers many advantages; near-zero VOCs, non-flammable, high
build, no primer required, one coat, no amines or styrenes, no isocyanate monomers, no
coal tar, rapid cure even at sub-freezing temperatures. Typically, application is with a
two-component airless spray gun.
To the specifier and end user, Corropipe II WasteLiner offers total protection for many
years against all of the conditions which one would anticipate in a sewer, waste or
effluent line. The finished product is extremely hydrophobic and bonds tenaciously to
concrete, ductile iron and steel pipe.
Attractive pricing and high throughput make the economics of this system extremely
attractive. For even greater economy, the product can be mixed by the applicator with
fillers such as ceramic powder and poured in place rather than sprayed.
Limitations: for extreme abrasion conditions, we recommend Corropipe II Abrasion
Coating: for solvent immersion or continuous temperatures above 600C. (1400F.),
use Corropipe II UltraLiner; and for drinking water, specify Corropipe II PW. Corropipe II
WasteLiner contains a certain amount of hydrocarbon extender, thus handling
characteristics and physical properties will depend on careful pre-agitation of
"A" and "B" components.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON APPLICATION OF COATINGS, CONTACT YOUR MADISON
REPRESENTATIVE.
A. SURFACE PREPARATION
1) Ensure that surface is clean, dry and uncontaminated. Do not
proceed if temperature is near dew point or relative humidity exceeds 85%.
2) Blast with sand or steel grit, using an angular medium to a Near White Blast
(SSPC-SP10; NACE 2; SA 2.5 standards) with a minimum 3.0 mil (75 microns) profile.
B. APPLICATION OF COATING
1) Power agitate individual components thoroughly before use with an
electric or air driven mixer to assure homogeneity. Do not thin. Do not mix "A"
and "B" together.
2) Spray apply coating using a two component, 1:1 mix ratio, heated airless spray unit.
3) Unlimited film build can be obtained in a single coat, multi-pass application. If
lining the pipe in one pass is desired, spin the pipe at a minimum of 5 to 10 rpm. Typical
applied thickness is 15 mils (375 microns) on steel, 40 mils (1000 microns) on concrete
and 40 mils (1000 microns) on ductile iron pipe. Roughness of substrate determines
thickness required.
4) A second coat may be applied over the first if it is applied within the recoat time;
otherwise intercoat delamination will occur. If the recoat time is passed, abrade the
surface of the prior coat before proceeding.
C. CLEAN-UP AND STORAGE
1) Corropipe II WasteLiner will react with humidity and moisture.
Keep containers tightly sealed; store upside down. For clean-up, use Madison VR-1
Viscosity Reducer, M.E.K. or a 50:50 blend of M.E.K. and Xylol. Other solvents may react
with Corropipe II WasteLiner.
2) Store between 500F (10?C) and 800F (270C). DO NOT
FREEZE. Use product within 6 months of receiving.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Corropipe II WasteLiner is intended for industrial use only. It contains no monomeric
isocyanate but may nevertheless cause respiratory distress in some people. Provide ample
ventilation. Wear a fresh air respirator when using in confined areas or when spraying. If
swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting as this will cause additional throat irritation; contact
physician. If splashed on skin, remove immediately with rubbing alcohol and then wash with
soap and water. If splashed in eyes, wash liberally with clean water and contact
physician; temporary irritation of eyes may last several days. Does not contain coal tar
and none of its ingredients are known to cause cancer in humans but treat unreacted
product as a possible carcinogen. Applicators should wear rubber gloves, safety goggles
and protective clothing. Resins are inert when cured. See MSDS for more information.
LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY
Madison will replace any product which, in service for which it is suitable, fails to
meet specifications within two years of sale and which is proven to be defective when
applied in a professional manner according to instructions. Madison accepts no
responsibility or liability for consequential damage, injury or expense in contract or
negligence. This product replacement warranty is in lieu of any other right, warranty,
guarantee or condition, statutory or otherwise, expressed or implied, whether as to
fitness for a particular purpose or as to merchantable quality or otherwise.
The information contained herein is believed to be accurate as of the date of
publication. Madison reserves the right to change product specifications without notice. |
